Speaker bio: Natsumi Shiotani oversees medical device integration and projects within the Healthcare Technology Management Department for Crothall Healthcare at Ann & Robert H Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. At Lurie Children’s, Natsumi and team work on organization expansions, sophisticated medical system upgrades and implementations. Natsumi received her Master’s in Healthcare Technologies Management from Marquette University and the Medical College of Wisconsin, and her Bachelor’s from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Presentation overview: Ann & Robert H Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago has experienced major hospital expansions and increased usage of the Connexall system for alarm notifications, thus increasing the demand for alarm analytics by our clinicians. The Healthcare Technology Management Department collaborated with the Nursing Informatics Department to create a dashboard tool with data extracted from Connexall logs that identifies quantity and type of alarms within each department, in order to improve patient safety.
